Deadline for Stroud's community grant applications approaches

Community groups in Stroud have just under two working weeks to apply for covid recovery grants under the government’s Community Resilience and Wellbeing scheme. The grant will support groups which work with their communities to promote aspects of wellbeing such as physical, mental and financial health, social connection, arts, culture, heritage and the environment.

Applications for the grants close on Friday 29 January, 2021.

According to Stroud District Council (SDC) community health & wellbeing manager Emma Keating Clark, “We have some brilliant community groups who have worked hard to support their residents throughout covid-19. We’ve also heard from culture and heritage organisations which have had to close their doors but are still improving wellbeing through online content or creative lockdown projects.”

Councillor Chris Brine, chair of the council’s Community Services and Licensing Committee adds, “These grants will boost this sector at a time when its help and expertise continues to be so valuable.”

The grant is available to Stroud-based community groups and voluntary organisations working to reduce inequality, promote wellbeing and support communities to recover from the pandemic. Groups yet to apply who think they may be eligible should visit the SDC funding page - www.stroud.gov.uk/community-and-living/community-funding-and-grants/community-resilience-wellbeing-grant or call 07976 314477.
