Activities for Children’s Mental Health Week

With continued lockdown and home-schooling putting all manner of strains on Gloucestershire families, it’s timely that today marks the start of Children’s Mental Health Week, which runs through to Sunday 7 February. Organised by children’s mental health charity Place2Be, the theme for the week is “Express Yourself”, a message reinforced by the charity’s patron, The Duchess of Cambridge, who explains, “[It’s about] finding creative ways to share your thoughts, ideas and feelings whether that’s through photography, art, drama, music or poetry. It’s finding those things that make you feel good about yourself.”

The week features a virtual assembly featuring Jodie Whittaker, Oti Mabuse and Matthew Lewis, an online conference plus free resources for schools, families and youth groups.

Additionally, education provider PlanBee has created a week of free activities in one downloadable pack, dealing with different topics each day as follows:
