From reimagined fairy tales to giants of the Jurassic age, there are shows that will delight children of all ages at Cheltenham Everyman in the coming months. You can be sure there’ll be lots of songs, games and laughter in ‘Peppa Pig’s Best Day Ever’ (7-8 May) when the sets out on a road-trip with her friends and encounters everything from muddy puddles to castles, caves and dragons. Then there’s the chance to meet some ‘Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World’ (17-22 May - pictured) in a brand new pop musical that tells the stories of amazing women like Rosa Parks, Marie Curie and Emmeline Pankhurst.
As half-term begins, brave explorers meet a host of lifelike dinosaurs including T-Rex and Triceratops in roarsome interactive show ‘Dinosaur World Life’ (30 May-1 Jun), while theatre group Box Tale ventures into a magical fairy-tale world and brings to life classic stories like ‘Hansel & Gretel’ in its new adaptation ‘Little Grimm Tales’ (31 May-3 Jun). Two absolute classics follow as the much-loved stage version of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s ‘The Gruffalo’ pay a visit (3-5 Jun) and, for slightly older children, Michael Morpurgo’s ‘Private Peaceful’ (5-9 Jul) - the story of a young man serving in the First World War trenches who’s determined to fight for what’s right. Over the summer holidays watch out for the Everyman’s touring production of the classic tale of ‘Rapunzel’ that plays at outdoor venues across the region from 22 July to 29 August.
