Cheltenham's summer of play

The Summer of Play returns to Cheltenham this summer with a host of fun events and activities for children and young people. It kicks off with an open access activity day in Pittville Park on Wednesday 3rd August. Children can try out free activities and find out more about what’s on offer throughout the town as part of the scheme, which is also part of the Holiday Activity and Food Scheme, reported by Primary Times Gloucestershire last week.

On Mon 15 – Tue 16 August, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club offers free community cricket days and All Stars and Dynamos cricket programmes, with children between the ages of 5 and 8 who sign up for the All Stars cricket programme receiving a bat, ball, rucksack and personalized T-shirt at their home address. For film fans, Sandford Parks Lido and The Alfresco Film Company screen ‘Ghosbusters: Afterlife’ on Fri 19 Aug, in a pool side cinema experience. Children with free school meals receive up to 50% off their tickets for the screening.

The Summer of Play is organised by the No Child Left Behind scheme in collaboration with Cheltenham Borough Council, Gloucestershire County Council and the Department for Education.
