Free activities and meals for Gloucestershire families this summer

Gloucestershire families across can now book onto a wide variety of activities organised by Gloucester County Council’s Holiday Activities and Food Programme. These activities are designed to keep children and young people fit, active and entertained while also giving them healthy meals throughout August.

Working with its partners and the government, the county council can again provide a wide variety of activities in Gloucestershire between 1st and 26th August following similar holiday schemes in the last year. These have enabled the council secure central government funding for this scheme for the next three years.

The Holiday Activities and Food Programme is in its second year and continues to work with over 59 activity providers across Gloucestershire this summer. Activities include archery, DJing, media and coding workshops and several ticketed attractions include the Bristol Aquarium. The county also works in partnership with six partner organisations across the programme’s six areas: The Venture White City Limited (Gloucester); Cheltenham Borough Council; Young Gloucestershire (Tewkesbury); Stroud District Council; Cotswold District Council; and Forest Voluntary Action Forum (Forest of Dean).
