Get Creative with The Roses with free half-term sessions!
Gloucestershire children and young people can enjoy a series of free creative workshops as part of The Roses Theatre’s new Roses Young Creatives (RYC) programme this October half-term. The taster sessions run by the Tewkesbury theatre aim to teach a range of creative skills including acting, singing, dancing, filmmaking, and script writing through games and improvisation and are aimed at 5-12 and 13-25 age groups.
The Roses’ programme coordinator, George Shire, says, “Our new Roses Young Creatives is for absolutely everyone – whether you want to be a performer or not. Come and have fun, meet new people, and learn some great skills along the way.” The new project runs over a two-year cycle and includes the production of a stage show and a feature film. “There’s no commitment from these sessions to join up to an ongoing programme,” he says. “But this is a great opportunity to meet the Get Creative Team from The Roses.”
The workshops take place at Northway Community Hub, Twyning Village Hall, and Wheatpieces Community Centre on Mon 24, Wed 26, and Fri 28 Oct respectively.
