Animal experiences and creative fun this Halloween
Gloucestershire Animal Welfare Association, which runs Cheltenham Animal Shelter, hosts animal experience days from Mon 30 Oct – Wed 1 Nov. Young people aged 5 to 16 can work with rescued animals during the school holidays. They learn about responsible pet owning and other related activities. Sessions take place 10am-1pm (Mon), 9am-12pm & 1-6pm (Tue), 1-4pm (Wed), 9am-12pm (Thu), 10am-1pm (Fri).
It also hosts Animal Days Halloween Craft Sessions on Sun 29 Oct, offering fun crafts making spooky, pet-related items at the shelter. Create rabbit and guinea pig ghost lollipops, pumpkin dog biscuits and spooky pompom cat toys to take home for your own pets or to donate to a shelter animal. Sessions from 10.30-11.30am, 1-2pm & 3-4pm, £10 per child.
The association also offers to visit your school, when the charity’s team can present sessions to pupils about pet safety or other animal welfare issues.
