It doesn’t need to be alcohol to protect your staff & pupils from COVID-19 in schools

Millions of schools every day are now relying on sanitisers to protect their teachers and pupils during the current pandemic. There is however growing concern that the official recommendation is that you must use alcohol based sanitisers, and the higher the alcohol content the better it is. This is not the case and gives no provision for people who can’t use them as they suffer from skin issues such as dermatitis or eczema, who are forced to use alcohol and suffer the pain and discomfort this brings. Equally there is a heightened health and safety risk with high content alcohol based sanitiser with regards to children and the use and supervision of these sanitisers.

In 1999 Qualkem launched Electrosan, an alcohol free hypochlorous based solution, which since March 2020 has been used by the frontline keyworkers, including the NHS and Blue Light services. Non sting, it is totally harmless to humans yet 100 times stronger than household bleach. Electrosan Skin & Surface Antiviral Spray is and has been scientifically proven to kill up to 99.9999% bacteria and viruses, including enveloped viruses similar to Coronavirus.

Electrosan is one of the most versatile products on the market, it isn’t just for your hands, it is also a highly effective multi surface disinfectant, a skin antiseptic and a deodorizer making it perfect to fight COVID-19.

The pandemic has underlined the importance of hand and surface sanitisation for public health. Whilst hygiene has been a long term focus for food preparation, COVID-19 has put a civic duty on everybody to ensure a high level of hand and surface sanitation. Electrosan gives the user 1000 sprays from every 100ml bottle as well as skin, it can be used on hard and soft surfaces to ensure powerful antiviral protection with a certainty that if a child picks up the bottle it is totally non-hazardous.

Electrosan is available from the Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO) www.ypo.co.uk
