KOSMOS IS BACK –THIS TIME AT THE DREAM FACTORY
Leamington Music continues to surprise with the range of music it puts on and the talented trio that make up KOSMOS are absolute proof of this, as concerts continue during the Autumn.
Kosmos has previously played twice in different venues in Leamington, and in Leek Wootton and Harbury, but Tuesday 10 November at 7.30pm in THE DREAM FACTORY will be a first for WARWICK.
The trio’s line-up is Harriet Mackenzie on violin, Meg Hamilton on viola and Miloš Milivojević on accordion. The programme will include music from every continent, but with a special emphasis on the Balkans and the Mediterranean, as each member has personal ties with that part of the world.
Harriet Mackenzie, who has a home in Greece, has played and recorded concertos with the Royal Philharmonic and English Symphony Orchestras and her interests range from Bach to contemporary.
Meg Hamilton played with the leading klezmer band She’Koyokh at The Dream Factory some years ago and is especially knowledgeable about music from Bulgaria, Moldava, Romania and Turkey, all of which she has visited to study with local virtuosi.
Miloš Milivojević, originally from Serbia, won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music and went on to win many competitions. He has a particular interest in the tango, like other members has premiered works written for him and he has also worked with Opera North and Glyndebourne.
Richard Phillips, Festival Director, adds, “There are only a handful of tickets left for what will be an entertaining evening, with many changes of mood. The Dream Factory has proved to be a wonderful new venue for Leamington Music and this month with Joglaresa selling out and The Mellstock Band to come on 24 November, we will be having a ball!”
“Our audiences have been so grateful to us for putting on concerts this Autumn and we have had many comments about how safe they feel as we have taken every effort to comply with the needs to combat the coronavirus epidemic. We move on in December to our Christmas concerts, with the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge in All Saint’s Church in Leamington on 9 December and The York Waits in St Mary’s Church, Warwick on 17 December.”
