After School Activities

It's the end of another school day and there’s a few hours to fill before bedtime routines begin. Children in the first few years of school will often be tired and content relaxing at home. For others, it will be a question of choosing the right after-school activities to spark their interest, develop a talent or simply keep them entertained! Why not check these out?

Aikido – a martial art to help develop mind and body

Many children have enjoyed martial arts over the years but often it is hard to decide which is best to try. Aikido is a Japanese defensive art combining body movement and awareness. It helps develop coordination through cooperative practice and helps build confidence, promote friendship and respect. Above all, their team and their practices are lively and enjoyable. They start at around 7 years and welcome parents who wish to practice. They are a small club at present but are expanding their numbers and will look at ‘off the mat’ social activities too.  Call 07413123392 or drop by on Tuesday 6.30pm to William Stanier Leisure Centre.
