Closing Date: 8th December 2021
Pippi Longstocking Day at The Museum of the Home
On Sunday 12th December, iconic Swedish character and rebel girl Pippi Longstocking, will be getting up to mischief at London’s Museum of the Home.
Nine-year-old Pippi – originally created by author Astrid Lindgren for her daughter during World War Two – is a free-spirited girl who uses a powerful mix of anti-authoritarian thinking and kindness to challenge the status quo, and to bring joy to the lives of those around her.
As well as her superhuman strength, mismatched stockings, carrot-coloured hair and freckly face, Pippi Longstocking is also known for her unusual domestic set-up. She lives in Villa Villekulla with a horse, a monkey, a big suitcase full of gold coins and a Lemonade Tree in the garden.
Join bestselling children’s author and former Children’s Laureate Lauren Child and theatre company Wizard Presents as they bring Pippi Longstocking to life in what promises to be a fantastic day out for all the family.
