Students Cross Continents for Degrees at University Centre Truro & Penwith
Babrah Orishaba, from Truro, and James McBlane, from Penzance, are celebrating their degrees with the University Centre’s Class of 2025. Babrah, a single mum who emigrated from Uganda, completed her BA (Hons) in Human Behavioural Studies and now plans to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology. James, dubbed Cornwall’s “Indiana Jones”, gained First-Class Honours in BSc (Hons) Archaeology and will study Global Maritime Archaeology in Malta. This year, 83% of Level 6 students achieved top honours. The University Centre continues to support local students to thrive in Cornwall. Applications for September 2025 are open, with free Access Diplomas available for eligible adults.
