Fostering events are taking place across Derbyshire in May and June.
Children in need of foster families will be the focus of events being held at venues throughout the county over the coming weeks.
Derbyshire County Council is supporting the national Foster Care Fortnight campaign with Talk Fostering events throughout May and June. Foster Care Fortnight is the Fostering Network's annual campaign to raise the profile of fostering and to show how foster care transforms lives takes place from 14 to 27 May this year.
The council’s Cabinet Member for Young People, Cllr Alex Dale, said:
“Fostering can transform a child’s life. We have a fantastic community of Derbyshire foster carers, but we continually need more people to join them to look after children who, for whatever reason, are unable to live with their birth families.
“We’d particularly like to hear from people who could foster sibling groups of two or more brothers and sisters.
He added: “Anyone over 21 can foster, and fostering can be done over short or longer periods of time. We provide a range of benefits and allowances, full training and dedicated support for our foster carers.
“If you think you could foster then please come along to our Talk Fostering events where you can speak to our staff about the fostering process and to current foster carers about their experience of looking after a child in need.”

· Wednesday 16 May 5pm-7pm Buxton Community School, Buxton SK17 9EA
