Christmas Light Show at Lichfield Cathedral

Lichfield Cathedral has been delighting its visitors for years with an annual Christmas Light Show. 2022 saw the Bishop’s Palace transformed into a Georgian dollhouse that opened up to reveal a truly festive spectacle. The pièce de résistance was the West Front of Lichfield Cathedral, which was the canvas for an audiovisual retelling of the Christmas story, including a host of angels descending and transforming each of the 113 statues on the front into flying angels.

For 2023, Lichfield Cathedral promise another spectacular show delivered by the acclaimed animation team: Illuminos. There will be audiovisual shows on the Bishop’s Palace and West Front and the festive experience will continue inside the Cathedral alongside a visit to the stunning Christmas Tree Festival.

One visitor said: “The wonderful light show at Lichfield Cathedral – it’s the obvious night out."

A family visiting the light show for the first time in 2022 described their evening as 'mesmerising, magical and sparkly'.

Tickets are available on the Cathedral’s website now and are priced reasonably at £10 per adult, £7.50 per child, £30 for a family ticket, and under 3s go free.
