Derby Live's summer lineup promises a rich array of cultural events to entertain and engage audiences of all ages. Sponsored by Smooth Radio, the Outdoor Theatre and Cinema Season features Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar and Romeo and Juliet in Derby’s parks. Julius Caesar explores political intrigue from June 27-29, while Romeo and Juliet offers a tale of love and fate from July 24-27. The whimsical film Wonka (PG) will bring the world of Willy Wonka to Markeaton Park on August 2, and the modern film Barbie (12A) will be screened on August 3, reflecting themes of self-discovery and empowerment.
The Darley Park Weekender, from August 30 to September 1, is a highlight of Derby’s summer. It starts with 80s Mix Tape on Friday featuring Jason Donovan, Chesney Hawkes, and a DJ set from Scott Mills. Saturday brings Ultimate 90s with Blue, Honeyz, and Chris Moyles. The Darley Park Concert on Sunday offers classical music and fireworks. This three-day festival blends music, family-friendly activities, and community spirit for an unforgettable experience.
