Protect against flu
"Flu can be very unpleasant, especially for children. It can lead to serious complications like pneumonia and in some cases, admission to hospital or intensive care.
"That is why every year, children aged 2 to 16 are offered the nasal flu vaccine. It is quick, painless and effective. Side effects are mild and only last a day or so. They include a slightly sore arm, raised temperature and aches. Serious side effects are very rare.
"School-aged children (Reception to Year 11) should receive an invitation from their school. Children aged 2 to 3 years can get the flu vaccine at their GP surgery or community pharmacy." - Dr Oge Ilozue, GP and NHS London Clinical Advisor.
