Ani is playing at home when she looks through a mirror in her room and finds someone staring back. It’s her Mirror Me reflection, Ina. When they discover that there are differences between their two lives, Ani and Ina hatch a plan to swap places. They both think that life on the other side of the mirror will be better. Ani takes her parrot along when she swaps, but she finds that everything isn’t as good as she expects it will be!
Mirror me is a sweet play, aimed at younger children. With a puppet parrot, songs, shouting, participation, a chance to stomp feet and some cheeky words to amuse the kids. It had a nice simple set, with a plot that most children would follow. Watch out for how long the dad can hold a note in the Italian food song: Lasagnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Very impressive!!!
Aiden (3 and a half) laughed very loudly at some of the jokes and he “Liked the bit when they swapped rooms and when they went back home”
