Pitschi, The Kitten with Dreams Reader's Review

Pitschi, The Kitten with Dreams

Primary Times reader quote

"I liked it because there was a lady dressing up as the Grandma.  With the walking stick she was looking down and wiggling her bottom.  It was funny."

- George aged 4

Magical from the start, Pitschi, The Kitten with Dream, is a delight.  The storyteller greeted us with a warm smile and a tinkle of bells.

Whilst Pitschi, the kitten, watches her brothers and sisters playing rough and tumble, chasing balls of wool and climbing brooms, she dreams of seeing the world.  When the others are safely tucked up in their basket Pitschi ventures out.  She encounters cute little chicks, a goat that needs milking and some bouncing bunnies.  A meeting with some daring ducks leaves her in a fix.  Can Bellow, the dog, save her from the night creatures?

This is a great show for younger children.  The storyteller is warm and entertaining and she involves the audience throughout.  They even get to meet the 'cast' at the end.

Alfie, age 7, remarked, "the kittens were funny when they were fighting, playing with the wool and climbing the broom."

Watch out for Grandma, her goat milking skills need work.  Audience beware!

Suitable for ages 2 - 7
