The Soundimals Tamer Reader's Review

The Soundimals Tamer

The Soundimals Tamer held my little animals aged 3 1/2 and 5) utterly captive for the full 50 minutes. His circus ring is a two metre circle marked with a piece of rope. Inside are three speakers on stools, a makeshift wooden cage and a tiny gate. With these simple props the Soundimals Tamer gets his 'animal sounds' to perform circus tricks. The animals are invisible but the sounds leap from one speaker to another, and around the venue.

My children followed every movement with their eyes as well as their ears. The Tamer's antics as he tries to control his Soundimals has all the children giggling when things don't go to plan. There's plenty of audience participation too, and two lucky children get to help him. This was Lara's (5) favourite bit. She loved 'when the boy had to help him catch his horse' and when 'he told the boy to use the gate but he stepped over it.' Douglas (3.5) liked ' the dolphin and the ball', and 'when he fell over'. It's wildly orginal, funny an charming. If you have kids under 10, make sure you catch it while it's in town.
