Review

Bags of rubbish and wheelie bins may seem an unlikely backdrop for a theatrical performance but they provide perfect fodder for the creative Trash Test Dummies. Immensely entertaining, the talented trio wow the crowd with their skilful acrobatics, slick choreography and general tomfoolery. Highly interactive from the start the energetic performers work tirelessly to entertain the audience using slapstick, mime and impressive circus tricks.

The action begins with three bin men dressed in overalls and crash helmets wandering around picking up litter.  The performance soon gathers pace and we are treated to an hour of stunts, juggling and physical comedy.  Every act is set to music with parodies of Chariots of Fire and the Lion King being particular highlights. The expressive trio even manage to turn cleaning the stage at the end into a game for the delighted children.

It is no surprise that tickets for this dynamic performance are selling out fast. Jake (age 9) laughed and clapped throughout and loved the part when one of the Dummies juggled ping pong balls from his mouth.  Anna (age 7) thought it was one of the funniest shows she had been to and especially enjoyed the ball fight with the audience. Trash Test Dummies is bags of fun and one of the most family friendly shows I have ever seen - a show for children that has the adults howling with laughter too.
