Gaia comes to Colchester Castle!
Colchester Castle is excited to announce Gai will be coming to the castle from the 19 July – 15 September. This stunning six-meter diameter touring artwork showcases Earth's beauty on an unprecedented scale and is a must see for the whole family.
Created by Luke Jerram in collaboration with the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), Bluedot, and the UK Association for Science and Discovery Centres, Gaia features detailed NASA imagery, offering visitors a unique, immersive view of our planet.
Inspired by the Overview Effect experienced by astronauts, Gaia fosters a deep connection to Earth and highlights the interconnectedness of life. Accompanied by a surround sound composition by BAFTA award-winning composer Dan Jones, Gaia promises a multisensory experience. This summer don’t miss this extraordinary exhibit that celebrates the beauty and complexity of our world.
