Oracy for All: helping every child find their voice

Oracy for All is a one-hour online CPD session that shows teachers what effective oracy looks like in the classroom. The training offers practical, high-impact approaches that can be used across subjects and year groups to help children grow in confidence.

Based on the principles of Help Me Find My Voice, the session explores how to support pupils who are “playground confident, classroom shy”, why small talk prepares children for bigger discussions, and simple techniques that encourage meaningful talk.
Sessions are available throughout April and into the summer term.

For full details on dates and times, please visit www.oracyforschools.co.uk/essexyoo.

Teachers joining these free sessions will learn warm-up strategies that promote confident talk, discover questions that unlock ideas, and explore how oracy can be embedded within existing curriculum time. Each group receives Help Me Find My Voice minibooks to continue the work afterwards.

These sessions form part of the Essex Year of Opportunity, an Essex County Council campaign helping residents develop essential skills and access education and work. You can find further information by visiting www.essexyearofopportunity.co.uk.
