Sun, Sand and Family Fun at The Baytree Shopping Centre

The Baytree Shopping Centre has wrapped up four fantastic weeks of free family fun, welcoming families into the heart of Brentwood for a summer packed with creativity, crafts and community activities.

Throughout the summer holidays, The Baytree hosted The Great Baytree Craft Along, with a different theme each week. Little ones were invited to get creative with everything from unicorns and superheroes to building and dinosaurs, with plenty of colourful creations heading home with families after each event.

The free sessions also welcomed some brilliant local organisations. Find your Active, Brentwood Essex joined the fun with activities including keyring making, hoopla and football-themed games, while Saint Francis Hospice brought along Frankie the Lion colouring, activities and a hamper raffle, giving families the opportunity to find out more about the important work of the local charity.

Alongside the crafts, families have been making the most of The Baytree Beach, which has once again proved a popular summer attraction in Brentwood. Complete with sand, buckets and spades, the beach has offered shoppers and families a place to enjoy a little taste of the seaside without leaving the town centre. The beach remains open daily from 10am until 4pm*, giving families another reason to visit before the summer comes to an end.

Maria Kyriacou-Edwards from The Baytree Shopping Centre commented: “We’ve loved seeing so many families getting involved with our summer activities. Each week brought something completely different, and it was wonderful to see children getting creative and enjoying themselves while parents could spend time together as a family. We’d also like to thank Active Essex and Saint Francis Hospice for joining us and helping make the programme even more special. Providing free activities that everyone can enjoy is important to us, and we’re delighted with how much fun everyone has had.”

Looking ahead, The Baytree will also welcome its next Local Artisan Market on Saturday 19th September, from 10am until 4pm. Visitors can browse a fantastic selection of independent traders offering everything from tasty treats and handmade gifts to crafts and unique finds, all while shopping local and supporting small businesses.**
