National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT) Announces 2025 Programme with New Patron Kerry Ellis
The National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT) is thrilled to unveil its 2025 programme, featuring iconic musicals, innovative new works, and enhanced opportunities for aspiring young talent in music theatre. This announcement coincides with the opening of NYMT’s 2025 auditions across the UK and Ireland and the appointment of West End star Kerry Ellis as its newest patron. Known for her roles in Wicked and Les Misérables, Ellis brings invaluable industry insight to NYMT’s mission of nurturing future stars.
Ellis, an NYMT alumna, expressed her excitement, saying, "I’m proud to be a new patron. My time with NYMT was transformative, and I hope many young people get to experience the same." NYMT Artistic Director Chris Cuming added, "Kerry’s passion for mentoring young performers aligns perfectly with our vision."
Auditions and Workshops
Auditions will be held in 15 cities, including Belfast, Cardiff, London, and Glasgow, for creatives aged 10–23. Workshops will also cater to musicians, featuring instrumental sessions and Q&As with Musical Directors. All participants receive tailored feedback and placement options to further their artistic journeys. NYMT prioritizes inclusivity, offering bursaries to ensure access for all.
2025 Productions
The 2025 programme includes a dynamic mix of beloved classics and new works:
Fame The Musical: Following the journey of performing arts students in 1980s New York City.

Tuck Everlasting: A UK premiere exploring themes of eternal life.
Lightning Boy: A whimsical tale set atop Mount Olympus.
PLATFORM: A showcase of devised performances by longstanding NYMT members.
