“I love Forest School. The rest of life is so busy and stressful. Forest School is much more relaxed and good for my mind.”
The children at Spring Grove School are very fortunate to have a large area of woodland where they can spend time outdoors, enjoying all the benefits of fresh air, freedom and space. All children from the Nursery pre-school class to the oldest children in Year 6 visit the forest regularly.
According to the Muddy Stilettos reviewer who visited their Forest School, the ‘award-winning off-site Forest School wins our prize for the best location for Forest School in Kent, in our humble opinion’.
There may be a perception that children are ‘just playing’ in an unstructured way at Forest School. But this is precious time for children to take part in opportunities rather than activities, and to move from adult-led to child-led learning.
Forest School is an integral part of life at Spring Grove, helping to promote the growth mindset that allows all their children to grow into ‘can-do’ people.
