Room on the Broom lands at Bedgebury National Pinetum and Jeskyns Community Woodland

Families visiting Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest and Jeskyns Community Woodland can look forward to a magical new experience in 2026 as Forestry England launches the Room on the Broom Trail.

The trail brings Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much‑loved story to life in the heart of the forest, marking the book’s 25th anniversary with an outdoor adventure designed for young explorers.

The trail invites children to join Witch and her friends on a charming journey through the woods. Along the way, families help track down Witch’s missing hat, bow, and wand, and collect the ingredients she needs to complete her final spell. Each stop features hands‑on activities, engaging forest facts, and touches of woodland storytelling that encourage children to look closely at the natural world around them.

A wonderful way for families to connect with nature and enjoy a beloved story, visitors can make the experience even more special by purchasing a £4 trail pack that includes a themed lanyard, spell cards, stickers, a pencil, and a pop‑out craft to build a witchy wand.

The trail continues Forestry England’s long‑running partnership with Magic Light Pictures, offering a year of forest fun for families throughout 2026.
