Kay Benbow announces two dynamic and exciting new series commissions for CBeebies

Kay Benbow, Controller of CBeebies, has today announced two exciting new commissions for the channel: a brand-new series exploring the geographies of the world, Go Jetters: and Spot Bots, a play-along sketch show featuring Ben Faulks.

Go Jetters (52x11) is a fully animated comedy adventure series weaving accessible geography concepts into engaging and child-relatable stories. First launched on the CBeebies website last year, this new series for television will follow the four plucky heroes Xuli, Kyan, Lars and Foz as they travel the world with their teacher, mentor and friend, Ubercorn, a funky disco-grooving unicorn.

The series is packed with comedy, teamwork, thrilling action, awesome sights and fantastic facts about brand-new places. Geographical features and concepts will drive and inspire the plot, dialogue, and scenes.

Spot Bots (26x14) will help develop the observation and attention skills of the channel’s young viewers in a series of funny live-action sketches. Each sketch contains fun games, and viewers are encouraged to join in with the puzzles at home.

Featuring in every episode are the Spot Bots, adorable animated robots who love to play games and puzzles. The Spot Bots introduce each of the live-action sketches, while the series also includes Ben Faulks - best known for his role as Mr Bloom in Mr Bloom’s Nursery - and a host of new faces as regular colourful, comic characters.

Kay Benbow, Controler of CBeebies, says: “I’m always looking to bring something new, fresh and dynamic to the channel and I think Go Jetters and Spot Bots do exactly that. Young children are fascinated with the world around them and Go Jetters will allow them to explore the geography of our planet in a very different way by putting the disco in discovery! And Spot Bots is such a unique concept that brings puzzles to life for young children. The Spot Bot characters are charming and I’m delighted to have Ben Faulks on board as one of the actors. These two new series will excite and entertain children but also make them think.”

Go Jetters is a co-production between CBeebies In-house Production and BBC Worldwide for CBeebies international channels. The Executive Producers are Tony Reed (CBeebies) and Henrietta Hurford-Jones (BBC Worldwide). The new series will be shown on CBeebies in autumn 2015. The executive producer of Spot Bots is Vanessa Amberleigh and the series is in production for transmission on CBeebies in 2016. Spot Bots also has a 20 per cent input from BBC Worldwide.
