RUGBY AID England CaptainMike Tindall MBE said,
“ Let’s be honest Rugby can be a fairly brutal sport, so for 20 well-known celebrities, some of whom have never played the sport, to agree to stand shoulder to shoulder next to some of the best players in the world in the name of charity is a fairly big deal! It’s either insane or really brave! But one thing is for sure it’s going to be entertaining… And don’t be fooled Louie Spence can so take on Shane Williams and win. Well maybe with Terry Holland’s support he can…”
The match will be played at the Twickenham Stoop, home of Harlequins and will be broadcast live on BT Sport. Television viewers will get to watch the build up to the big match with a preview programme on BT Sport on Thursday 3rd September which will cover the recruitment and training of each team, as well as a live broadcast of the match in BT’s new ultra-HD on Friday 4th September.
Celebrity Choreographer and TV personality Louie Spence has been limbering up and putting himself through a tough training regime;
“ I may not have the bulging biceps of Shane Williams but he's going to have to run very fast to catch me, I’m quite looking forward to being chased around a rugby pitch by men in shorts”
Tickets for the event are now on sale online at www.tickets.quins.co.uk and by phone 0208 410 6010, with prices ranging from £20 to £40.
