Global Brands Simon’s Cat and Sesame Street create new content together

Endemol Shine UK’s Simon’s Cat and Sesame Street join forces on two new videos that feature charmingly-mischievous Simon’s Cat, teaching furry red monster Elmo how to behave like a cat.

This exciting collaboration with Simon’s Cat is part of Sesame Street’s ‘Love to Learn’ campaign. With the campaign, from July to December, Elmo explores a new and exciting topic each month.  Viewers will be treated to playlists, available on Sesame Street’s YouTube Channel, full of brand new videos and songs. Elmo learns about Animals and Music, Cooking and Kindness, with some of YouTube’s biggest stars including Simon’s Cat, Rosanna Pansino and Jérôme Jarre. Both videos have premiered on Wednesday 6th July 2016.

For their Animals episode, Sesame Street teamed up with Simon’s Cat, the hugely successful animation comedy series featuring the mischievous and often hilarious antics of a charming cat and his long suffering owner - Simon. Since first appearing online in 2008, Simon's Cat has become “the feline internet phenomenon,” attracted a worldwide fan-base in over 100 countries, with a series of short cartoons and books charting the antics of its title character.

In Simon’s Cat’s debut YouTube collaboration, Elmo observes how cats like to sleep, clean and of course, play! Aimed at children and families, each video is a playful look at cat behaviour, to help kids understand how cats act through simple, yet engaging cat observation and light hearted humour. The two videos feature amazing unique content that combines the quality animation of Simon’s Cat and the much loved and hilarious Sesame Street character.

Each video is around two minutes long, and both Simon’s Cat and Sesame Street will each release one video on their respective YouTube channel.

Simon Tofield, Creator of Simon’s Cat, commented: “I grew up watching Sesame Street and the chance to get to work with one of the best loved characters in the show was a fantastic opportunity! Simon’s Cat’s slapstick comedy has a lot in common with the humour of Sesame Street and I think the two sit together really well.”

Scott Chambers, Senior Vice President and General Manager, North America Media and Licensing, Sesame Workshop, said: “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Simon’s Cat, one of the most popular animated channels on YouTube, to encourage kids and their families to tune in to our curated content from our Love to Learn campaign.”
