Kidz Kave - How An Idea Became A Reality
Hi, I’m Luisa, the founder of Kidz Kave.
I always knew that I wanted to run my own online business one day. But life just kept getting in the way, whether it was my part time job or being mum to my 10 year old son, Harley, as his life got busier with activities and the inevitable taxi service started! You know how it is!? And I only have one child! ;-)
Then, Covid arrived. And, as we all know, life changed for a lot of us over the months that followed during that first lockdown. Furlough was introduced to us (I’d never even heard that term before - thank goodness for Google!) and I found myself being paid to effectively homeschool Harley. Thankfully, I could cope with Year 4 work and found myself thanking the stars he was not in Secondary School!
Then the inevitable… redundancy came knocking on my door at the end of July 2020 and it was then that, after some brainstorming sessions with my husband, Kidz Kave was born. And the product I wanted to start with… socks!
I’ve always had a thing for funky, loud socks. It's a way of standing out from the crowd with a bit of quirkiness, without being “out there”, but knowing that your feet are totally rocking that funkiness in your shoes! I wanted to start a website dedicated to kids, because I wanted to bring that funkiness and confidence to them and to bring a smile to their face, because that’s what these socks do! Plus, with all the restrictions and changes that they’ve had to go through during the last year, they deserve it!
At the moment we are selling United Oddsocks, MADMIA and Happy Socks. The sizes range from a child size 9 up to an adult size 8, depending on the brand and style. All the socks on the website are clearly labelled with the sizes and you can also search by size, age, gender or brand.
