Team Jay kicks off its UK linear premiere on POP!

Team Jay from Juventus Football Club, the first animated series entirely produced by a football team, has made its UK linear debut on free-to-air Kids channel POP – just in time for the school summer holidays and 2024’s summer of sport.

POP is loved by 4 million kids[1] across the UK, with more than 100 million minutes of content[2] viewed a week across linear and digital combined. Whilst Team Jay found success on YouTube, providing more for the club’s global fanbase and better aligning to societal trends.

This is the perfect partnership, expanding reach and tapping into new audiences with the quality and impact of TV.

Francesca Newington, Director of Kids Channels at Narrative Entertainment says “Here at Narrative, we’re committed to sourcing entertaining, kids-safe content from all corners – including digital first IP. The acquisition of Team Jay is a perfect example of our combined digital and linear approach and couldn’t come at a better time with excitement for sport at an all-time high this summer.”

Daniele Lunazzi, Juventus Head of Product Marketing says “Juventus is thrilled to bring the excitement and the passion of football to young audiences in the UK through Team Jay. This series not only celebrates our beloved sport but also emphasizes teamwork, friendship, and the joy of playing football. We believe Team Jay will inspire and entertain kids, creating a deeper connection with the beautiful game and the values it promotes.”

The show follows the adventures of the Team Juventus mascot Jay the Zebra who shares his love of football with four friends Matteo, Cami, Wushu and Duke. Together they embark on a series of adventures, where they put into practice the skills they have learnt from playing football.

Team Jay is on POP every day during the summer holidays at 8am, 12pm, 4pm and any time on the POP Player.

POP is available on Freeview 205, Sky 614, or Virgin 736.

The POP Player is available online, Freeview Play, YouView, Freesat, Apple TV, Fire TV, on tablet and on mobile.

POP is a free-to-air channel, home to a mix of high-energy adventure and fast-paced comedy and is known by kids for recognisable franchises and laugh-out-loud humour. The POP Network includes Tiny Pop and POP MAX and has an extensive presence on FAST, including the recently launched POP UP.
