Premier League Primary Stars spotlight Rainbow Laces Resources for Pride Month

This Pride Month, Premier League Primary Stars is encouraging schools to visit their powerful Rainbow Laces classroom resources – designed to help pupils explore key themes such as inclusion, empathy, and allyship.

Developed for Key Stage 2 pupils, these free, curriculum-linked resources use the power of football to help children understand and celebrate difference, support one another, and create welcoming school communities.

Perfect for PSHE and cross-curricular learning, the Rainbow Laces resources include real-world stories, engaging classroom activities, and creative reflection tasks – ideal for supporting Pride Month discussions in a meaningful and age-appropriate way.

What's available?

1. Stand in Someone Else’s Shoes
A creative writing-based activity that encourages pupils to step into someone else’s shoes and imagine the world from their perspective. Through diary entries or short stories, pupils build emotional literacy, empathy, and the ability to understand experiences beyond their own.

2. Inclusion Has No Off-Season
This lesson explores what inclusion really looks like in football and everyday life. Pupils consider how to support one another, what respectful behaviour means, and how they can be allies both in and out of the classroom – because inclusion isn’t just for one month.

3. Youth Voice Films
These short videos feature real pupils discussing allyship, identity, and the power of support. Accompanied by discussion guides, they offer a springboard for open conversations about difference, kindness, and acceptance in the classroom.

4. Design Your Own Pride Flag Activity
A fun, expressive task that asks pupils to create a flag representing their values, identity or vision for the future. Teachers are invited to submit designs to PLPrimaryStars@premierleague.com for a chance to be featured on the Premier League Primary Stars gallery page during Pride Month.

The Premier League Primary Stars programme supports over 19,000 primary schools with free, values-led resources that build life skills through the lens of football. The Rainbow Laces resources are an impactful way for teachers to celebrate Pride Month in school while reinforcing core values such as respect, fairness, and kindness.
