Chantry Place to host free ‘Chantry Jack crow hunt’ this October

From Saturday 19th October until Sunday 3rd November 2024, Chantry Place Norwich will be hosting a free ‘Chantry Jack crow trail’ for families to enjoy, along with a spooktacular photo opportunity with scarecrow Jack!

Families can pick up a free trail map from Langley’s on the lower ground floor then find the decorated crows with letters on in retailer windows to help Jack who has lost his crows, before entering a competition to be in with a chance of winning a £100 H&M voucher and other tricks and treats.

Visitors can meet Jack by the hay bales on the lower ground floor by H&M HOME and have a photo with him in front of a Halloween backdrop.

The trail will take place daily during Centre opening hours.

Join North Norfolk Railway for 4 days of STEAM based fun with interactives shows and science experiments hosted by Mad Science!

Grab your tickets and climb aboard a historic steam train at either Holt or Sheringham stations and head to Weybourne for Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts and Maths shows and activities hosted by Mad Science. All proceeds go towards the care of Redwings’ rescued horses and donkeys.

Halloween is coming to Pensthorpe!
Mini witches and wizards come and join in as Pensthorpe transforms into a land of magic and mystery for October half term. Featuring their BRAND NEW pumpkin patch where you can choose from thousands of pumpkins. Full paying children’s tickets include a FREE Pumpkin to pick and carve. Kids Go Free this Half Term at Bure Valley

During this October half-term holiday, Saturday, 26th October to Sunday, 3rd November.

Climb aboard the Bure Valley Railway where children travel FREE. Trains will operate throughout each day from both Aylsham Station (NR11 6BW) and Wroxham Station (NR12 8UU). Each child will receive a Halloween themed children’s activity sheet and spooky items will be down the line for them to spot during the train journey.  Their Whistlestop Café at Aylsham Station will be offering Halloween Kids Lunchboxes which can be pre-ordered or purchased on the day. To make this a truly family-friendly event, the Railway is giving free travel for every child up to the age of 15 when accompanied by a full fare-paying adult (maximum of 2 children per adult).  Adult Return is £22.00 Extra Children £11.00. Advanced booking is advisable to avoid disappointment.

Autumn Magic and Folklore at Blickling Estate

Discover the tale of Blickling’s Black Shuck and explore the real-life magic of autumn at Blickling Estate.

Look out for the hidden pumpkins and discover the legend of Sir Henry Hobart and Blickling’s Black Shuck in the house. Head into the garden to complete the family Nature-magic Quest to find out what magical level you’ve reached – are you a Supreme Sorcerer yet? Take a short walk in the parkland to learn about the mystical properties of trees.

The Monster Club Show

The Monster Club is a unique blend of Live Music, Performance, Dance and Circus, bringing Halloween to life with 80 minutes of family fun. Coming to Norwich Puppet Theatre

Award winning puppetry company Certain Dark Things team up with Norwich Puppet Theatre to bring the best (and worst!) of the Grimm Fairytales to life this half term! This mischievous and magical twist on classic fairytales runs from 25th-27th October, with a fairytale themed puppet making workshop for families on 29th October.
String Theatre bring  traditional marionettes in The Insect Circus on 28 October, Stories in the Dust take audiences on a baked bean fuelled adventure across mysterious lands on 31 October, and visit icy fjords in search of giants and trolls in The Giant Who Slept for Ten Thousand Years on 2 November.

Pleasurewood Hils

This October half term Pleasurewood Hills welcomes all ghouls and goblins for a fangtastically fun Halloween day out, as the park transforms into a screamingly thrilling, Pleasurewood Chills. Fun lovers can enjoy all the favourite attractions from the mighty Wipeout, the high seas swinging Shiver Me Timbers, the eggcellent Egg-Spress, the chilled Sea Lion Splash plus many more thrills and spills to give you goosebumps.
