The Fair in the Square is celebrating the summer with a ‘Tropical!’ theme when it returns to Highgate on Saturday 17 June 2017 from 12.30pm to 5.30pm in Pond Square and South Grove. The annual free event brings together the community and welcomes visitors from beyond for a fun packed afternoon, and this year coincides with the ‘Great Get Together’ weekend, inspired by the Jo Cox memorial celebrations of social cohesion.
local societies, charitable causes, shops and businesses are among over 100 stallholders selling a tempting variety of food, books, crafts, clothing, plants and household gifts. Live entertainment in Pond Square is provided by local schools, dance and music groups and the Pearly Kings & Queens are back this year leading the singalong. Continuing a Fair tradition, the Hornsey School for Girls’ Steel Band will open the Fair and set the “Tropical” mood over at St Michael’s Forecourt the ever popular Sheep Show and Punch & Judy will give rolling shows throughout the afternoon and Jacksons Lane’s renowned circus performers will be running skills workshops.
