Have a Hoot - Schools and Community Groups wanted for North London’s first mass art event!

Londoners will have a real hoot this summer spotting giant colourful owls and cute smaller owls as they start appearing on the streets of Haringey as part of the Big Fun Art Adventure. North London Hospice’s community art trail starts on August 17th for eight weeks.

Owls like our aptly named mascot, ‘Owlbert’, have been chosen for the Big Fun Art Adventure trail, as they represent the characteristics of many of the doctors and nurses at North London Hospice, who are calm, gentle and wise, and often work at night.

And it’s not too late for schools and community groups to get involved. By taking one of the ‘owlets’ under their wing and getting creative, they can enjoy being part of the action, decorating and displaying the owls to help raise funds for the vital charity.

Over 30 artist-designed and business sponsored owl sculptures plus 30 smaller ‘owlets’ will be ‘adopted’ and decorated by schools and community groups which will hide in plain sight in the streets, buildings and parks of North London. Together, the parliament of owls will celebrate the vibrancy, culture and creativity of our patch of the capital.

Thanks to the support of so many schools and community groups, 20 ‘owlet's’ have flown the nest and only 10 are left to be adopted. For more information on how you can get involved, please contact bigfunart@northlondonhospice.co.uk.
