Help for Parents and Carers of Children with Behaviour Problems

Do you have a child aged between 4 and 9 whose behaviour is difficult to manage? Have you already tried a parenting programme but not found it helpful? Or perhaps you felt that a group-based approach was not right for you?

Instead of a group approach, The Tavistock NHS Foundation Trust are offering a therapist who will contact each parent individually so that they can focus on their child’s particular problems and offer a more personalised intervention over a number of weeks. This is part of a randomised controlled trial of new interventions being run by The Tavistock NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London.

Who can take part in the trial?

To be eligible to take part in the trial, you must have a child aged 4 to 9 whose behaviour is causing problems. Interventions are not designed for children who have autism (or suspected autism) or a significant learning disability.

To find out more about the study, visit: www.tavistockandportman.nhs.uk/ppc-take-part

You can send a message from the web page requesting a call if you have any questions to ask before deciding on whether or not to take part.
