A Fresh Creative Chapter for Razzamataz Hackney
It is a well-known fact among parents that children possess a beautiful, sometimes terrifying amount of natural energy. Left entirely to its own devices, it usually manifests as midnight living-room choreography or highly dramatic, Oscar-worthy arguments about eating broccoli.
This September, Razzamataz Hackney is focusing that wonderful creative chaos into something truly rewarding: genuine, lifelong confidence.
At the heart of this new chapter is incoming Principal, Jules Cooke. Having spent years managing major international performance tours and world-class live entertainment, Jules is an expert at guiding high-energy environments and turning backstage chaos into theatre magic. Now, they are bringing those global stage skills back home to inspire Hackney’s next generation.
“Performing arts isn't just about nailing a dance routine or hitting a perfect note,” Jules says. “It’s about finding your voice, building resilience, and discovering that whatever makes you different is actually your superpower. We are shaping a warm, inclusive space where the quietest four-year-old and the most expressive teenager feel equally seen and celebrated.”
The school is also welcoming a familiar face to the faculty. Acclaimed actor Tom Ratcliffe (EastEnders, A Midsummer Night’s Dream) is joining as a guest tutor. Bringing genuine TV and West End experience back to the East End, Tom is passionate about helping local children discover the joy of screen acting and storytelling.
Under this new team, the studio is much more than a place to practice dance, drama, and singing. It’s a community where Hackney's young people can learn the craft from mentors who live and breathe it, all while making friendships that last.
