Capita Managed IT Solutions and C2k have announced the winners of the third annual NI Schools ‘ICT Excellence’ Awards. The awards ceremony held last week at The Merchant Hotel in Belfast celebrated Northern Ireland schools that are demonstrating innovation in their use of technology in teaching and learning. The awards – established in 2015 – celebrate the innovative and collaborative use of technology in schools across Northern Ireland and the positive impact on students and their wider communities. This year, schools competed in three classifications, Primary, Post Primary and Special Educational Needs under one category – transforming teaching and learning through technology.
The 2017 finalists schools were:
Seaview Primary School, Belfast – winners in the primary school classification
Arvalee School & Resource Centre, Omagh – winners in the special educational needs school classification
St. Cecila’s College, Derry – winners in the post-primary school classification
St. Macartans Primary School, Loughinisland – runners up in the primary school classification
Cedar Lodge School, Belfast – runners up in the special educational needs school classification
St. Colm’s High School, Draperstown – runners up in the post primary school classification
