Futsal Summer Camp for children and young people, Omagh Leisure Complex

Coach-led Futsal Summer camps for children and young people aged 10 – 12 years will take place in Omagh this summer as part of the EU's PEACE IV Cross Community / Cross Border Youth Sports Programme.

The free futsal camps, organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council in partnership with Omagh Futsal Club, will take place at Omagh Leisure Complex from Monday 30 July - Friday 3 August and from Monday 6 August -Friday 10 August 2018 and will run from 10 am – 1pm each day.

The camps will provide opportunities for children and young people to take part in sport while forming new and positive friendships with young people from different backgrounds and traditions.

Speaking about the forthcoming summer camp, the Chairman of the PEACE IV Partnership, Councillor Sean Clarke, said:

"Groups participating in the Peace IV Cross Community Cross Border Youth Sports Programme are already delivering tangible benefits to their communities. It is envisaged that the Youth Sports Programme will enhance these benefits, through the establishment of new sports clubs; capacity building; skills development and cross-community/cross-border sporting events, encouraging young people to make a positive contribution to building a shared and inclusive society.

The programme is an opportunity for the groups involved to connect with and learn from each other, promote their community to new members whilst at the same time offering a wealth of health and recreational benefits."
Places on the programme are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. For further information and to register on the programme, please contact Ryan Hanna, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council by telephone on 0300 303 1777 (all calls charged at local rate), textphone on 028 8225 6216, by email at ryan.hanna@fermanaghomagh.com or visit www.fermanaghomagh.com

This project is supported by the European Union's PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). Match-funding has been provided by the Executive Office in Northern Ireland and the Department for Rural and Community Development in Ireland.
