Webinar planned to outline Covid-19 recovery plans in Ballymena

A joint webinar to update businesses on the work being carried out by Ballymena Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, and the Ballymena BID to aid economic recovery post-COVID, will take place on Thursday 17 September at 11am.

The webinar is in place of the usual business breakfasts organised by the Chamber and will focus on both the town centre and the wider Ballymena area.

Key speakers at the webinar will include the Chief Executive of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Anne Donaghy, Chamber President, Cllr Eugene Reid and the Chairman of BID, Stephen Reynolds.

Anne Donaghy, Chief Executive Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, commented: "Our local business community, from retail and services, to tourism and hospitality, have shown incredible patience, determination and resilience this year throughout what has undoubtedly been their most challenging period ever on record.

"I have witnessed first-hand the endless hours of hard work that proprietors and their staff have invested – and indeed will continue to invest – in ensuring that their venues are safe and fully comply with government guidelines to operate, and that Ballymena and Mid and East Antrim remains open for business."

The webinar will provide an overview of support and initiatives developed in response to Covid-19 and the recovery plans in place moving forward.

Cllr Eugene Reid, President of Ballymena Chamber, said: "The Covid-19 pandemic has reminded us just how greatly our town centres in Mid and East Antrim are valued and how much every shop, business and hospitality establishment located within the town centre and surrounding Ballymena area – no matter how large or small – is so important to our local lifestyle and visitor offering.

"This webinar will explain first-hand the plans the Council, BID and the Chamber are doing collectively to aid the recovery process for the Ballymena area as we continue the journey of recovery from the pandemic so I would encourage people to register to hear the innovative plans that are in place."
