See preview of Earth Photo finalists in Dalby Forest
Forestry England is offering the chance to see a selection of prints of the Earth Photo finalists’ work at a limited exhibition in Dalby Forest from 17 October to 31 December, ahead of the winners being announced in December.
Earth Photo, the international competition and exhibition created by Forestry England and the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) rewards photographs and videos that document the natural world, its breath-taking beauty, and its ever-growing fragility.
Petra Young, Funding & Development Manager at Forestry England, said:
“We are delighted to be just one of three of the nation’s forests hosting the limited Earth Photo exhibition. The complete exhibition online of all the finalists was great to view in lockdown but seeing some of the work in print and up close gives a wonderfully different perspective.
“Not only are the images thought-provoking and stunning, some show an amazing contrast between forests across the globe and what we can see here at Dalby Forest. And whilst the images highlight the differences, there is also a recognition of seeing the photographers express environmental issues that concern us all.
“The exhibition will be with us up to, and beyond, the winners being announced in early December so people who want to view the photos safely will have plenty of opportunity.”
This is the latest exhibition in Dalby’s thriving arts programme which showcases art that interprets the landscape, wildlife, heritage and people – created by local, national and international artists.
The exhibition will include 24 of the 54 final pieces and will run from Saturday 17 October to Thursday 31 December, 11am to 4pm in Low Dalby courtyard.
