Spooky Goings On at Bolton Castle

Spooky Goings On at Bolton Castle

Come and enjoy a spooky Halloween at award winning Bolton Castle, near Leyburn, from Saturday 24th to Saturday 31st October

Included in the usual admission price, we’re offering a range of fun experiences suitable for the whole family to blow away those cobwebs and we’ve worked hard to ensure your visit is Covid safe. Follow the trail around the castle courtyard and meet characters from its history; the creepy witches, the rats and bats, the headless man, and the pumpkins. Come already dressed in your Halloween outfit, or alternatively have a photo opportunity dressed as a witch or castle guard with the spooky castle as your backdrop. Put yourself into the stocks and pillory, or dare you lift the coffin lid or go alone into the dungeon?

There will also be storytelling in the Great Chamber on the 24th, 25th, 27th, 28th, 30th & 31st October at both 11am and 2pm. These events are included within the usual admission charge but are ticketed events and places must be booked so we can monitor numbers. A maximum of 30 people at each session with family groups socially distanced from each other.

For one evening only from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday 28th October for £10 per head, we are offering the chance for a maximum of 30 people to experience the castle by lantern light. You can individually book or come as a family group of a maximum of 6 people. There are no age restrictions. You will be met by our in house castle historians who will give you a brief introduction and then you will be able to wander the rooms and corridors at your leisure. Dare you go to the dungeon at night? Can you find the Bolton Castle ghosts? Do you dare to be scared!

Catering will not be provided but you can bring your own hot and cold refreshments (non-alcoholic). Please be aware that due to the nature of the building there are uneven floors and trip hazards so extra care must be taken in especially in the reduced light conditions.

Please book via the Bolton Castle website Daily tickets from £9 per adult, £7.50 concessions and £35 for a family ticket - 2 adults, up to 3 concessions (must include one child)
