WOLDIES WELCOMES FAMILIES FOR BEE WEEK THIS MAY HALF TERMย
Families can visit during Bee Week, from Saturday 23 May until 31st May, to step inside
the Observatory Hive to watch hundreds of bees up close as they work.
Children find out all about brilliant bees through the Bee Happy Trail, which
encourages them to think like a beekeeper and discover what it takes to keep bees
happy.
Woldies specially curated Bee Garden is where children can discover bee-friendly
plants and see the bees collect and return to the Hive with pollen on their legs.
Families can take part in the Bee Count, where they learn how to identify different types
of bees and then go looking for them!
Children will love the Pollination Game, where they can find, collect and deliver
pinecones that represent pollen to a giant flower. This offers a fun, hands-on way for
children to learn how bees pollinate a flower through a play. Plus, there is plenty of
space to let them run wild.
A fun-filled family day out
With so many different areas to explore, you won’t run out of things to do at Woldies.
Whether it’s building a family den in the quiet woodland area, taking on the challenge of
the Dino-themed Maze, climbing on huge boulders and along the timber trail, or playing
with natural materials like sand and water in the amazing outdoor kitchen space –
Woldies offers a full day out.
Plus, unique spins on sports games, like Foot Golf and Foot Pool, give older children the
chance to test their skills.
