Greenwich Children’s Theatre Festival
This year the Greenwich Children’s Theatre Festival enters its 18th year. The festival has been a lynch pin at the heart of the Greenwich Theatre programme since its inception in 2008, offering a stage for countless artists and theatre makers from around the UK and beyond. Tours have begun at the festival, and new ideas and new shows have come to life there, year after year.
For this year, alongside major well-known titles like There’s A Monster In Your Show, Fireman Sam, Julia Donaldson’s The Detective Dog and The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the festival features the infectiously joyful Tooob, the delightful Where’s Mrs Ladybird with versions both for babies and for toddlers, and lesser-known main stage treats like The Three Little Vikings, Mess and The Worst Princess.
The theatre also hosts Shlomo’s Beatbox Adventure for Kids, an interactive treat for all ages from the world record-breaking beatboxer, and Sanskruti Dance’s fusion of dance, magic, storytelling and live music in Magical Honey.
Beyond the festival, the theatre presents a family rep season this summer with brand-new musical productions of The Three Musketeers and The Elves and the Shoemaker, the return of Anthony Spargo as Captain Hook in this year’s panto, Peter Pan, and a host of show-stopping family shows in between.
