Tramshed Youth Theatre

Start your love of theatre at Tramshed, South East London’s home of participatory arts. Based in the heart of Woolwich, Tramshed is a theatre and community arts hub. Originally called the Greenwich Young People's Theatre (later Greenwich and Lewisham Young People's Theatre), Tramshed have been running drama sessions for young people for over 50 years.

Today, Tramshed runs weekly Youth Theatre sessions on Saturdays (term time only). Sessions include drama games, teamwork and storytelling, and are a fantastic way for children and young people to be creative, learn communication skills and build confidence, all in a safe and supportive environment.

Tramshed Youth Theatre is split into three age groups; Junior Youth Theatre for 5-8-year-olds, Middle Youth Theatre for 9-12-year-olds and Senior Youth Theatre for 13-18-year-olds. Many younger participants continue to the older age groups, and even go on to join Tramshed Young Company, who put on annual productions as part of National Theatre’s Connections festival.

Tramshed Youth Theatre uses a progressive pricing scale, allowing children of all backgrounds a chance to take part in the joy of theatre and creativity. Sessions for the 2025/26 academic year resume in September 2025.
