Answering all your 11+ and 13+ questions
With ever-increasing competition for places at the UK’s leading independent schools, the Independent Schools Show Summer Fair this year is focusing on the 11+ and 13+ entry points.
Parenting is never easy, and deciding on where to send your children for senior school remains one of the biggest decisions – and one of the greatest financial investments – in a parent’s life. Whether you want co-ed or single-sex, and whether you’re looking for a top London academic powerhouse or a traditional all-round country boarding-school experience, it is vital that you are well-informed both about the plethora of options available and the rigorous admissions process required. Getting the right information can be overwhelming, but help is at hand.
Step forward the Independent Schools Show. Now in its 16th year, the 2022 Summer Fair will bring together the most respected heads and admissions directors, alongside education and financial experts, to answer all your questions about the 11+ and 13+ school transition. Each talk will follow a magazine format, featuring speakers in conversation, plus plenty of opportunity for questions.
The day has been carefully tailored to answer all the big questions a parent might have, with leading educationalists speaking on everything from ‘Will my child suit senior boarding?’ to ‘How do families manage the school fees?’ The heads of some of the UK’s top schools – including Jesse R Elzinga from Sevenoaks and Dr Dominic Luckett from Sherborne – will be on hand to answer questions, along with scholarship and bursary experts, admissions directors and educational experts including Grace Moody-Stuart, Director of the Good Schools Guide. At lunch time there will be a reception featuring the heads and admission directors from a wide range of boarding senior and prep schools.
