The Elmer Adventure and October half term at the Southbank Centre

There’s plenty for the family at the Southbank Centre this October half term.

The Elmer Adventure takes centre stage at the Queen Elizabeth Hall between Wednesday 30th October – Sunday 3rd November. Join three friends on a joyful jungle adventure in Tall Stories’ magical, musical adaptation of the much-loved Elmer books by David McKee. The enchanting and colourful world of Elmer is brought to life through songs, storytelling and puppetry by the company who brought you The Gruffalo live on stage – for everyone aged 3+.

As part of London Literature Festival, there are plenty more events for all the family. The Southbank Centre are joined by notable authors such as Robert Macfarlane and Kiran Millwood Hargrave who discuss their latest books for children; SPIN: Rhymes, Rhythms and Raps promises a fun-filled family performance with the word warriors of Apple and Snakes; comedian Russell Kane performs his latest show Pet Selector! based on his hilarious new children’s animal guide; and Arts in the Garden: Light & Colour is a free Diwali celebration on the Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden.

Visit the Southbank Centre for the longest-running celebration of the written and spoken word of its kind in the capital, presenting prestigious names alongside rising literary stars every autumn. London Literature Festival runs between Wednesday 23rd October – Sunday 3rd November.
