Creative fun for families at The Conservatoire

The Conservatoire in Blackheath has long been a go-to venue for parents looking for creative activities for their children in both term and holiday time. All tutors are both teachers and practising artists and musicians, and every single course is carefully crafted to help your child develop new skills, improve existing ones, and have lots of fun, returning home each day fulfilled and proud.

Four weeks of courses are based around different themes – Popular Culture (from fashion to Pokémon!); The Natural World; Artists, Styles and Movements; and Stories and Folklore. Within these themes, on offer are courses focused on painting, drawing, origami, ceramics, casting, cyanotypes, collage, tie dye, jewellery, fashion, photo batik and sculpture. There are shorter classes for early years (ukulele, fun art classes, art and music fusion on the Little Mermaid/Man and Spirit Animals), day-long offerings, and three-day courses (Play! Summer School and Make a Musical!). Building on their specialism term time courses they have also introduced new focus classes for 8-14 year olds offering more challenge in specialised courses in (clothed) life drawing, spectacular shoe sculpture, Paint like a Master, and crafting a Macrame Plant Holder.

For the first time, families can create together in intergenerational classes in ceramics, hand casting, portraiture and origami!
