For a fourth year running, Ark Walworth Academy has been awarded the Bronze Award for Pearson's Secondary School of the Year in the category of ‘Making a Difference’, as testimony to their commitment to students and the community.
Students leave Walworth Academy for a range of destinations - many to prestigious universities including Cambridge, Oxford, Bristol, and King's College London - and some to top-flight apprenticeships with companies such as UBS and Balfour Beatty. This is made possible through a school experience which focuses on developing young people as citizens, and the Academy reports that its results place it in the top 5% of similar schools nationally for progress. The full national curriculum is delivered for students, and more, with integrated Community Weeks in which they focus on broader themes to empower young people in 21st century society.
In addition, every student does an hour of enrichment each week. Activities range from chess to first aid, samba drumming to crochet, engineering to community advocacy!
The Walworth team knows families are finding things tough at the moment, so they do their best to support you too. All Walworth Academy families receive a uniform voucher to help with the cost of transition, and every Walworth student receives a laptop to support them during their time at school, totally free of charge. Partner organisations provide family counselling and other support services at times of challenge if you need it.
They look forward to seeing you at Open Sessions!
