Join the Dinosaur Easter Egg Hunt at Birdworld this Easter!
The dinosaurs have escaped!
Visit Birdworld this Easter Holiday in our quest to track down the dinosaurs who are roaming throughout the park. Learn how our birds have descended from these ancient reptiles and take part in a themed dinosaur Easter egg hunt.
Running from Monday 8th – Thursday 18th April, children and adults alike can explore the 26-acre park to try and spot the dinosaurs and complete the trail competition with a chance to win a prize. Also, during this time visitors can enjoy the opportunity to join in dinosaur-themed crafts and children’s entertainment.
This Spring, Birdworld has just opened a brand-new play area down at the Jenny Wren Farm. Watch your children let off some steam while they crawl through the tunnel or go down the slide. This interesting wooden structure is great for children aged 3-6 years.
We have also had some new arrivals earlier this year at the park. We have welcomed 40 Chilean Flamingos which are a great addition to our Birdworld family. These differ from our current Greater Flamingos as they are smaller in size and darker in colour.
This time last year we witnessed the initial instalment of several new homes for Citron and Yellow-crested Cockatoos. Inspired by Batak architecture, stage 2 has now been completed with the construction of the unique style roofing on each aviary. There are several stages left to be completed and through the continuing development we aim to raise awareness of the rapid decline of critically endangered Yellow-crested Cockatoos in the wild.
As one of the largest bird parks in the country, the 26 acres of landscaped park and gardens are home to over 1000 birds and 180 species from around the world. Popular exhibits include The Terry Pratchett Owl Parliament, Flamingo Cove and Seashore Walk. And if that wasn’t enough, the mysterious Underwater World also awaits with its shoal of piranhas and dwarf crocodiles.
Open 10am until 6pm, last admissions are an hour before closing. Craft activities, entertainment and face-painting are available on selected weekdays between 11am and 4pm. For more details or to book tickets, visit www.birdworld.co.uk or call 01420 22992
